In the land of Matterville, three best friends lived: Sol the Solid, Liq the Liquid, and Gas the Gas. One day, a curious girl named Mia wandered in. âWhy is ice hard, water splashy, and air invisible?â she asked. Sol stood tall. âIâm solid because my particles stay close together,â he said. âI keep my shape, like rocks and ice.â Liq twirled. âI flow because my particles can move a bit, like water or juice!â Gas floated in. âIâm free to spread out! My particles zoom around, like air or steam.â Mia was amazed. âCan you change?â Gas puffed up. âWe can! Watch!â He cooled down, turning into rain, then Liq turned into ice as the air got colder. âWeâre all matter, just in different forms,â they said. Mia smiled. âThanks! Now I understand matter!â The three friends waved goodbye, leaving Mia with a magical new lesson about the world around her.

Our memory and our brain are amazing! However, it does not record our lives like a book! You cannot go back to a previous chapter to retrieve memories accurately. Attention issues, prior knowledge, and memory decay all interfere with the actual memories that are stored. There are so many different parts to our memory that all work separately and together to help us experience and remember life. Your task is to create a children's book about manny the monkey that creates a story highlighting KEY concepts for each aspect of memory: Encoding, Storage, & Retrieval. Your book should be like a âcliff notesâ of memory and should walk me through these processes in an easy to understand manner. Have fun and be creative The book must play out like a cohesive story Requirements: ⧠Include all the section listed below ⧠Color!!! ⧠Title Page & Table of Contents ⧠Pictures dispersed throughout the book ⧠Effort is evident ⧠Information is CONCISE and put into easy to understand words, examples, etc. ⧠Make it MEANINGFUL to you! Use personal examples for concepts if possible! Three Main Chapters & Prologue (Introduction) â Encoding o Automatic Vs. Effortful Processing âȘ Include explicit and implicit memories o Effortful Processing Strategies o Spacing Effect o Shallow Vs. Deep Processing (Meaningful) â Storage o Explicit Memory System âȘ Frontal Lobes âȘ Hippocampus o Implicit Memory System âȘ Cerebellum âȘ Basal Ganglia o The Amygdala and Memory o Synaptic Changes and Memory Processing â Retrieval o How do we measure retention? âȘ Recall, recognition, relearning o Retrieval Cues âȘ Priming âȘ Context Dependent Memory âȘ State Dependent Memory âȘ Serial Position Effect

One day, I met Kirby in the park. Then we decided to go on an adventure. First, we went to Japan and saw a big volcano. It was very beautiful. After that, we went to a hotel and stayed for two days. On the first day, we had dinner. It was delicious! On the second day, we visited the zoo. There were lions, capybaras, and monkeys. We had so much fun! Then we went to a toy shop and bought a Kirby doll. On the third day, as we were heading home, the volcano suddenly erupted! Kirby and I ran away as fast as we could. Kirby shouted, âHurry up! Letâs get on the plane!â So, we quickly left Japan. Four hours later, we arrived home safely. We had so much fun in Japan!
