４.ジニース・イリーヤが23歳の時、自分の丸いアフロヘアーが役に立つのではないか。と思いこの丸いアフロヘアーで活躍することでこの髪型に興味を持ってもらい、差別を無くしていこうと思ったのです。早速準備を始めます。
５.まずこの丸いアフロヘアーは水に強いということを実証します。まず公民プールに行って帽子なしで泳ぎ始めました。そして最後はプールの中に潜りました。その時は髪型はとても濡れていてびしょびしょでしたがジニースが頭を振るとアフロが元通りになりました。この様子を撮った動画をニーチューブにアップロードしました。
６.次にアフロは風に強いんたぞという事を実証するために暴風訓練場に来ました。まず風速５mの風を受けてみました。全然びくともしません。次に風速３０mの風を受けてみました。髪はかなりなびいています。服もばたばたという音を出しながらかなり強くなびいています。しかし、ロングヘアーなどは風が強いと目にかかったり引っ張られて痛いのでアフロヘアーは風に強いという事を実証しました。
７、この二つの動画はたちまちアメリカでも拡散されとても話題になりアフロヘアーのアメリカ人女性が増えて黒人に対する差別行為が少なくなりました。こうしてジニース・イリーヤは黒人差別を無くした英雄として語り継がれました。
